The Civil Service
Introducing the Property Scheme
Civil Service Fast Stream are delighted to announce that we are, for the second year running, Number 1 in The Times Top 100 Graduate Employer listing. This listing was compiled from research with around 20,000 final year students at UK universities, conducted by High Fliers Research.
The Civil Service Fast Stream is the Civil Service’s flagship leadership development programme, developing people from a wide range of backgrounds who have the potential to become our future senior leaders.
We offer a choice of 15 schemes, each within a profession, and the opportunity to contribute to fast-paced work that makes a difference to the whole of society.
There is no typical Fast Streamer. We are seeking people from all backgrounds to become our future leaders.
Each Fast Streamer’s journey is based on an agreed and unique personal development plan that equips them with the skills, knowledge and experience to become a confident, inspiring and empowering future leader.
The Fast Stream offers competitive minimum starting salaries of £27,000 or £28,000, salary progression on the scheme and earning potential on completion of £45-£55,000.
We value who you are as you join us and provide flexible working arrangements, ensuring that you have the space to achieve work-life balance. We provide a working culture that enables you to be yourself as we develop you to become a future senior leader.
Whether you’re a final year undergraduate, an existing graduate or a degree apprentice, you’ll find you qualify for many of our schemes. Most are open to graduates with 2:2, as well as 2:1 and first degrees.
Regardless of the degree subject you studied, there’s a scheme that’s right for you. Many of our schemes also offer the chance to study for a professional qualification.
The Civil Service is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workforce and we know that our award-winning diversity internship programmes, EDIP and SDIP play a vital role in helping us to achieve this.
These programmes provide undergraduates with a disability and those from BAME and lower socio- economic backgrounds the opportunity to gain experience of working for the Civil Service and life on the Fast Stream.
