I was drawn to the scheme as it seemed a great opportunity to get involved with diverse projects and sample different working environments. It’s certainly lived up to that so far!
I then moved to the Home Office to work as a delivery manager, implementing “KanBan” with three live service teams. This was challenging but also extremely rewarding.
I had to work hard to earn a place at the Fast Stream table – being an “in-service candidate” meant that I didn’t need a degree but I still had to go through the exact same recruitment process that university graduates must go through.
I get so many opportunities I do feel like I’m making a real contribution – it's what I’ve always been looking for from my job.
As a fast streamer you will enjoy specialist learning and development activities covering technical and leadership training. These may include agile working, user research and software development, among others.
